Stacking The Shelves - April 2016

Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews! It is a list of what books you have received over the previous week or in our case over the previous month.

This month I haven't managed to add many books to my shelves, I am saving up for a mortgage and money has been a bit tight. However although I probably shouldn't have added any in this case, I have got about 50 books I still haven't read at home, I added three;

1. Fellside By M.R.Carey

Fellside is a maximum security prison on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors. It's not the kind of place you'd want to end up. But it's where Jess Moulson could be spending the rest of her life.

It's a place where even the walls whisper.

And one voice belongs to a little boy with a message for Jess. 

Will she listen?

So I have had my eye out for M.R.Carey books since reading The Girl With All The Gifts which is way up the top of my favourite books list... When this came in on the delivery I think I actually screamed out loud and scared Jen a little (Sorry Jen) probably not the best place to scream working in an airport. I am already more than half way through this book and it is not letting me down so far even though it is not necessarily the genre I would usually go for.

2. A Man Called Ove By Fredrik Backman

A grumpy yet loveable man finds his solitary world turned on its head when a boisterous young family moves in next door.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon, the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. This book sounds adorable, from reading just the blurb I can tell that I am going to go through a whirl wind of emotions reading this, I cannot wait.

3. For One More Day By Mitch Albom

I read The Five People You Meet In Heaven By Mitch in one sitting I was that absorbed in the story so I knew I would be on the look out for more of his work, I actually read the blurb and loved the sound of it before even realising that Mitch Albom was the author. That sealed the deal on me buying this book.

8. Mightier Than The Sword By Jeffrey Archer
