As you may have read on the introduction to this feature we have a lot in common when it comes to books and we disagree on very few things, this topic being one of them. Jen loves to re-read books while Laura thinks that it is a waste of time. We have created this feature as a friendly competition to see if re-reading is more popular than only reading the same book once.
- You can see how twists and turns develop
- You can read into the subtexts and subplots
- You get to re-enjoy the book
- Your imagination is re-awakened
- You might have missed something the first time
- What is the point of having a book on your book-shelf, if you have read it and you don’t plan to read it again. It is going to gather dust. It’s like buying a DVD if you are only going to watch it once.
- If you send yourself to book rehab like me, you can re-read a book!

- There are just so many books to read and new books being released all the time
- Part of the enjoyment of reading is the surprise element and the need to keep reading in order to find out what is going on, if you have already read it then you don't have that element of surprise
- So many books so little time
- The magic of the plot/story could be lost when re-reading and what is the point in risking that
- You can always just talk about the book with other people that have read it to learn more about the plot/characters
Are you for or against Re-reading?
