Welcome to our blog! As you may have noticed from the title this blog is all about books, the occasional rant about books and of course more books.  So if you don’t like books? This probably isn't a blog for you.

Books are actually our job, Initially Jen was supposed to spend just a short period of time training Laura on the job before she left for a new job and a new venture but fate brought us back together and that is how this blog was born.

 

I’m Jen, the co-founder and blogger.  I am a 37 year old transgender woman, who is waiting for my hair to grow so I don’t have to wear a wig.  I work with books and spend most of my wages on books.  But I left my job for a new job and a new venture and Laura got my job.  I had the privilege of training her and we got on.  My new life/job didn’t work out, because I think a lot of people were praying I wouldn’t leave: Laura included.  So I am back working with Laura (in a diminished capacity) but still sharing our love of books and now creating this blog!!!

 I have a history of blogging and that, but gave up after a while, so now I have a co-blogger so now I may actually get my arse in gear and not give up after three posts and zero comments.  So please feel free to comment, disagree or agree with what is written about this love of ours. 

Reading is my life, I read on trains, buses, and in bed, but as my water heater is a bit crap: I don’t read in the bath. 

So that’s my, well our story.

Hiya! I'm Laura Michelle, My Mum clearly couldn't decide on my first name so I got two. I am 25 years young and living in Liverpool where I was born. Before I got my new job, just a few months ago, where I was lucky enough to meet Jen, I had no idea what I was doing with my life other than reading. It stressed me out that I had spent years of my life studying, graduating from university and only managing to find a job working part time in a retail store. Then my luck changed, Jen thought she was leaving to start a new job in a new city so I somehow managed to get her job, working full time with books! How heavenly is that, it was worth the wait after all. It got better a month later when Jen decided to return and that is the reason this blog was born.

I read to escape from reality, I am currently in the middle of trying to get a mortgage, married and have children and for those of you who have done any of the above you know how stressful even one of these things can be. I have been blogging for about two years now about books and absolutely love hearing other readers opinions on book related stuff so please feel free to get in touch!
