Synopsis
Lou Clark has lots of questions.
Like how it is she's ended up working in an airport bar, spending every shift watching other people jet off to new places.
Or why the flat she's owned for a year still doesn't feel like home.
Whether her close-knit family can forgive her for what she did eighteen months ago.
And will she ever get over the love of her life.
What Lou does know for certain is that something has to change.
Then, one night, it does.
But does the stranger on her doorstep hold the answers Lou is searching for - or just more questions?
Close the door and life continues: simple, ordered, safe.
Open it and she risks everything.
But Lou once made a promise to live. And if she's going to keep it, she has to invite them in . . .

I love a sequel, but did I love this one? Yes and no. The sequel to Me Before You brings back Lou after Will. Sorry I don’t want to spoil it for you, but the first one was a weepy and it doesn’t really end well for the two of them.
I won’t go into detail, Laura has yet to read it, so ssshhhhhh! Spoilers! I suddenly feel like River Song from Doctor Who. Anyway the book follows Lou through the grieving process, and trying to get on with her life. I understand the reasoning behind the novel, as in could lightning strike-twice? Could this be another hit?
There are a few little twists in the book, including the introduction of a character I found unlikeable. But you can’t like everything about a book can you? There is no such thing as a perfect book. If Will was kept alive for the sake of a sequel, or if she had succeeded in ‘saving’ him, would it have been the same book? No, but in a way Lou now needs to save herself and live.
I like the idea, it was a twist I didn’t see coming. It just didn’t work for me. I can’t say much more, due to Laura. An answer to keeping the character of Will alive, would have been to have featured Will’s parents more I feel, since they featured heavily in the first book.
There is a life after Will, but just not that much of it.
